A Culinary Trip to the Kingdom of Ali Baba! Arabic cuisine is one of my favorite in the world! I love the flavors, the spices, the ingredients... Kasbah - which means palace in Arabic - takes you straight to a journey to North Africa. As soon as you pass the door, you are in Maghreb... Countless lanterns hanging from the ceiling, Arabic proverbs on the wall, berbere rugs and woven cushions help create a very exotic and feeric atmosphere. You'll be served authentic food from the Maghreb, well spiced (expect cumin, cayenne pepper, saffron, cinnamon...) without being too hot or spicy and it will be the occasion to discover new wines you've never tried before!... The Maghreb, literally "Land of the Sunset" is the area of North Africa comprising Algeria (where the owner is from), Morocco and Tunisia. Each of these countries have their specialties and all of them are sumptuously cooked at Kasbah. The most famous dish is the traditional couscous, a typical North African dish, and they have a mean lamb one... :) When I am in the mood for a lighter meal, I go for their vegetable tajine with dried figs. The dish is named after the conic terracotta pot in which the ingredients are slowly cooked, creating aromatic flavours... delicious! If you still have some space, eating arabic pastries is one my favorite sins. Dates, honey, everything I like... Matches perfectly with the traditional, after dinner, mint tea... Check out this place, it is an unforgettable experience, and if Arabic people are famous for their sense of hospitality, Kasbah certainly doesn't disappoint. The Kasbah team is extremely friendly and will serve you a great feast! The cherry: occasionally they have amazing belly dancers to add that authentic touch while you dine. Lola's secret: after diner, you can ask for a shisha and enjoy flavorful volutes of harmless smoke... I am a fan of the apple flavoured one... Bisou bisou, Foxy Lola | ![]() ![]() ![]() | |||
